Tanger Outlets hiring for the holidays

The Tanger Outlets in Sevierville is hiring for the holidays.

Tanger is hosting a job fair on Monday, Sept. 22 from noon until 8 p.m. at the Sevierville Civic Center. About 30 retailers in the shopping complex want to fill more than 300 seasonal jobs.

Organizers said applicants should dress to impress.

New light improves Sevier Co. intersection safety

TDOT says an intersection in Sevier County is safer, thanks to a new traffic light.

Crews installed the signal at Hattie Branch Road and Newport Highway in July.

Senator Doug Overbey says he and other lawmakers asked TDOT to study the intersection after residents voiced their concerns.

TDOT found that from 2005 to 2007, there were 22 wrecks at the intersection. Ten involved serious injuries, one was deadly.

6 bail bondsmen charged with burglary and assault

Six people are facing multiple charges in Sevier County after investigators say they broke into a home to catch a man who had apparently skipped bond.

According to Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals, on July 24, the six bail bonding agents broke into a home through a window and told the woman living there that they were looking for her ex-husband, Richard Vaughn.

Woman charged with stealing money donated to St. Jude's

A Sevier County woman is accused of collecting more than $3,000 dollars for charity, then pocketing the cash.

According to the Pigeon Forge Police Department, Mandy Helton, 38, also known as Mandy LeAnn Case, was arrested on September 8 and charged with theft.

Investigators said she told people she was collecting donations for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, but she used the money for herself.
