Sevierville police search for bank robbery suspect

Sevierville police said they're searching for a man accused of robbing a bank.

At about 12:20 p.m. Monday, officers said the man handed a note to a teller at the Sevier County Bank on Dolly Parton Parkway demanding money. The suspect then took off in a black GMC or Chevrolet pickup truck with large wheels and a lowered body.

A lawsuit says a woman's brain injury from a headfirst fall at Dollywood was caused by a mix of sleet and rain that made a ride "dangerously slick" and the lack of adequate safety measures.

Ober sells out snow tubing despite warm weather

One winter attraction is seeing a boom in business, despite the milder temperatures.

Tubing at Ober Gatlinburg is sold out through Saturday. According to the popular resort's website, Ober has seen three straight days of sold out sessions, and Sunday is quickly filling up with reservations.

The warm weather has made it hard to get the ski season started, but that hasn't stopped tubing.

Kate Barido, Ober Gatlinburg Director of Sales, said tubing is a great option because anyone can do it.

Tram hits 76-year-old employee in Dollywood parking lot

Dollywood confirmed a tram hit a 76-year-old employee Friday in the park's parking lot.

Pete Owens, Dollywood's director of public relations, said a passenger tram hit the 76-year-old at about noon while he was directing traffic around a second, stopped tram.

Owens said as a precaution LIFESTAR flew the man to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, but is expected to be okay. No visitors were hurt in the incident.
