NASCAR driver Trevor Bayne made a little pit-stop in Pigeon Forge on his way to Bristol Motor Speedway.

The 2011 Daytona 500 winner was the keynote speaker at Tuesday's steak and burger dinner for the Boys and Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains.

The dinner, where kids eat steak and adults are fed burgers, is traditionally a signature event for the Boys and Girls Club nationwide.

Bayne says he wanted to share some inspiration with the kids.

"I wanted them to know that Trevor Bayne as a person didn't just show up one day and win the Daytona 500. It was a lot of hard work and a lot of dedication and a lot of God's glory and his will showing through. So I just wanted to encourage them of that and show them that if you stick with it you can make it, and even if you don't, that's where you're supposed to be," he said.

You can watch Bayne is his Pat Summitt-inspired car at the Food City 250 on Friday. He'll be racing in the orange and white Tennessee-themed car to raise awareness for the fight against Alzheimer's.
