A Sevier County jury has convicted a man of kidnapping, strangling, and raping his girlfriend.
The jury convicted Ernest Pyle of two counts of especially aggravated kidnapping and one count of resisting arrest. Officials say Pyle held his girlfriend against her will at a Pigeon Forge hotel for five days where he brutally raped and threatened to kill her.
Pyle will be sentenced in January. He faces 25 years in prison for kidnapping charges, and an additional 11 months for resisting arrest.
