GATLINBURG, Tenn. (AP) -- The Great Smoky Mountain National Park will do some road work overnight to affect traffic as little as possible.

A spokeswoman for the park said the work will begin Thursday.

If the weather holds, it will be completed by Saturday. However, rain could delay some work deeper into the Labor Day weekend.
The Gatlinburg Bypass will close at 7 p.m. and reopen at 7 a.m. each day.

Traffic will be maintained on Newfound Gap Road but will be restricted to one lane from 7 p.m. though 7 a.m.
