It’s Secret City Festival time again in Oak Ridge! The bands have been selected, the schedule is filling up, and tickets to this year’s headliner concerts go on sale Monday, May 6.  Tickets are priced at an early bird rate of $17. After June 7, ticket prices go up to $20.

PEANUTS™ Easter Beagle Express at the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad

The Great Smoky Mountains Railroad (GSMR) is pleased to welcome the PEANUTS™ Easter Beagle Express on Friday, March 29, and Saturday, March 30, 2013. Trains will depart the historic Bryson City Depot at 11:00am. The train will travel along the Tuckasegee River into the quaint town of Dillsboro, North Carolina for a 1½-hour layover on Friday and a 2-hour layover on Saturday.

Ripley’s Aquarium in Gatlinburg is once again hosting the Pirate’s Ball, an annual event that promises great food, great music, and great fun for all those who attend. Participants are encouraged to dress in their favorite pirate garb, sample a wide variety of fine foods and drinks, and dance the into the night, all while supporting the mission of Mountain Hope Clinic, an organization offering quality medical and dental care to the uninsured citizens and workers of Sevier County.

It's no secret Sevier County is a hot tourist destination. And many visitors making an impact are practicing their faith in the process.

Tourism numbers released in September show a boom for the area during the first half of 2012.

When it comes to the number of hotel rooms sold, Sevier County experienced a 10.5 percent increase from January to July 2012 when compared to the same time last year, according to UT Tourism Management Professor Dr. Steve Morse.
