If you going to hit the road tomorrow, do it soon rather than later. Heavy rains with a chance of sleet will arrive Tuesday. Rain is expected to turn to snow overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday morning.

In our own backyard, there are thousands of people hungry and cold tonight. Thankfully, the Mission of Hope works all year to help ease the burden for our neighbors in rural Appalachia, and Friday, you can help make Christmas bright for thousands of children in that region.

The 18th annual Mission of Hope Blue Barrel Christmas campaign kicks off.

MAKE THIS: Yumm-tastic Pumpkin Fluff Dip

MAKE THIS: Yumm-tastic Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Ingredients:

1- 8 oz container of low fat whipped cream

1- 5.1 oz package of vanilla instant pudding mix

1- 15 oz can of pumpkin

1- ½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice

Directions:

In a large bowl, mix the canned pumpkin and whipped cream. Stir in the pudding mix and pumpkin pie spice. Refrigerate until serving. Serve with graham crackers or apples.

Thanksgiving Day meal costs a little less than predicted

Whether you're the kind who goes prepared with a list or a last minute shopper, Americans will soon be packing grocery stores to get ready for Thanksgiving dinner.

According to the American Farm Bureau Federation, the average cost of a Thanksgiving Day meal for a family of 10 is $49.04. Last year's average, according to the AFBF, was $49.48.

The study states volunteer shoppers looked for the best possible prices without taking advantage of special promotional coupons or purchase deals.
