'Click It or Ticket' campaign kicks off today

Monday kicked off the start of the national campaign urging drivers and passengers to buckle up.

Officials said they hope "Click It or Ticket" campaign reminds people that wearing a seat belt could mean the difference between life or death.

Many fatal accidents could have been avoided if people were wearing their seat belts. Last year officials said more than 360 fatal crash victims in Tennessee weren't wearing seat belts. So far this year, 128 fatal crash victims were unrestrained.

Project ADAM donates defibrillator to Northview Academy

A soon-to-be opened East Tennessee school will now be better prepared to handle medical emergencies, thanks to a local health group.

Project ADAM today donated an AED defibrillator to Northview Academy. The organization educates and helps schools handle sudden cardiac arrests.

Monday's donation was in honor of one of the district's substitutes, Chasity Roberts, who recently was saved after having a heart attack while on vacation.

Belk offering free mammograms in Sevierville May 7

The BelkGives on the Go Mobile Mammography Center, a 39-foot-long, state-of-the-art screening center on wheels, will be in Sevierville Tue., May 7 to offer free, convenient mammogram screenings.

Women age 40 and over with no breast concerns, who have not had a mammogram in the last 12 months and who have a primary care physician are eligible by calling 855-655-BMMC (2662) to schedule an appointment.  The dates and locations are:

Water at a Sevierville apartment complex tests positive for E. coli

Tenants at Ridgeview Apartments in Sevierville are being told their water could make them sick. The notice came after one of the renters had the water tested and it came back positive for E. coli.

Denise Hayle has lived at the apartment complex for three years and said she became very ill one night.

Hayle said, "My glands swelled up one night with pressure under my jaw, up to my head, and I felt like my brain was swelling that night."

Hayle went to the doctor and was prescribed antibiotics. She later noticed something very strange in her dog's bowl.
