"Cyclone Racer" waterslide opens in Sevierville
News

The Smokies has a new high-speed outdoor waterslide that turns guests into hydro-powered drag racers.

Wilderness at the Smokies resort has officially unveiled "Cyclone Racer".

50 feet above ground, a water flow of 1200 gallons per minute shoots visitors down a four-lane raceway.

Each lane combines a mixture of open flume racing and enclosed tunnels using aqualucent striping to provide strobes of color to the experience.

The slide is available to guest staying at the resort.  Non-resort visitors can experience the water adventure on special days.  Wilderness posts those notices on the company's website.

The resort prides itself in being the home of Tennessee's largest indoor waterpark.
