Attorney asks judge to throw out liquor vote lawsuit
The Pigeon Forge Election Commission is asking a judge to throw out a lawsuit filed after voters approved a liquor by the drink in November.
The Concerned Churches and Citizens of Pigeon Forge sued the commission calling for a new vote. Liquor by the drink passed by just 100 votes on Nov. 6.
The Citizens Group believes hundreds of votes were cast by people who don't live in the city.
The election commission's attorney formally asked the suit to be tossed out Monday. The attorney said the citizens group doesn't have legal standing in the case.
