Sheriff Ron Seals said that Audrey M. McCroskey, 46, of Kodak, died of her injuries at UT Medical Center on Monday. She had been in intensive care since the shooting happened on November 6.

Investigators said McCroskey's estranged boyfriend, Browning Burgess, 60, of Newport, came to her home on Bent Road that night. The two argued, and Burgess shot McCroskey in the face before he shot himself.

Burgess was dead when officers arrived, but an ambulance rushed McCroskey to the hospital for treatment.
