GSMNP seeking volunteers to help clean up Alum Cave Trail

(WBIR) The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is looking for volunteers to assist crews on fixing up Alum Cave Trail.

The trail is south of Gatlinburg near the North Carolina state line. Volunteers are needed every Wednesday starting May 20 through October 28.

The work shift runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., but shorter shifts could be available upon request.

Crews will be performing a wide range of maintenance from rock and root removal, rebuilding the trail head, and cleaning drainage ditches.
