(WBIR- Sevierville) - The tow truck driver wanted for a hit and run that involved four other vehicles and a mini-golf course has turned himself in.

Thomas M. Carr surrendered to police Thursday afternoon.

Someone who knew where Carr was contacted a detective, and after a discussion, Carr agreed to turn himself in at the Sevier County Sheriff's Office.

Sevierville Police are searching for the driver who crossed the center line on the Parkway Tuesday night, and hit four other cars, drove onto a miniature golf course, then ran away.

Sevierville PD said Thomas M. Carr, 27, was driving a flatbed tow truck near Five Oaks Mall when he crossed the center line, and hit four other vehicles. Police said the tow truck then went over a curb, through a fence and stopped in Ripley's Old McDonald Miniature Golf Course. Witnesses told police the driver, believed to be Carr, ran away.

Two people were taken to the hospital following the crash, with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Sevierville PD charged Carr with driving on a revoked license, reckless driving, three counts of failure to render aid, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, two counts of leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, eleven counts of reckless endangerment and two counts of aggravated assault.
